Apple Rings [Centre for Healthy Active Kids Recipes]

Jazz up your apples! Take your apple from boring to amazing with these tasty toppings.

Serves 1

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Equipment Required:

Apple corer OR small knife

Ingredients:

1 apple

1 tablespoon of peanut butter or other nut or seed butter

1/4 cup of toppings: try granola, or unsweetened coconut

Method:

1. Using an apple corer, push through the centre of the apple at the stem all the way to the bottom to remove the core. If you do not have an apple corer- slice apple into rings. Using a small knife, cut out the center of the apple so it resembles a ring and skip step #2.

2. Slice apple into 3 to 5 slices (the hole should be in the middle of each slice).

3. Spread one side of each apple ring with peanut butter

4. Sprinkle with toppings.

5. Enjoy!
