Today’s video is about the few food items which we should include in our children’s diet to keep them healthy throughout the summer and help them in beating the summer heat.

Below are the details of the items with their health benefits and the ways of how to include those items in their daily diet:

1. Watermelon : As name suggest it will contain 92% of water and lots of nutrients as well. Most importantly it helps in ¬- combating the heat

- Keep the child hydrated

- Boost Immunity

- Improve digestion

- B6 fight infection

- Healthy bone

As the excess of everything is bad, if overeaten it can cause nausea and vomiting.

You can provide it in the form of Salad or Juice. (For making the juice you can take a plate full of watermelon (without seeds), add sugar, lemon juice of 1 lemon and blend with the help of a blender. Pour in a container add some mint leaves and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours and then serve chilled.

2. Lemon : Full of vitamin C , give to the child which is above 1 year old.

- Re-hydrate the body

- Cure digestion problem

- Diarrhea

- Boost immunity

- Control vomiting

You can give this to your child in the form of lemon water. ( For the making the same melt 2 spoon of sugar in a glass, add 1 lemon juice , some salt according to taste and ice cubes or chilled water. Add some mint leaves which will also help in digestion and curing fatigue and headache. Put it refrigerator for some time and then serve.

3. Tomatoes : -Huge amount of antioxidant, fights different types of cancer, Improve vision and skin.

Provide this to yours kids in the form of salad, tomato soup which is everyone’s favorite and juice.

4. Cucumber : It will also contain 95% of water. Eating the cucumber or drinking its juice boost your kids immunity and keep them healthy, energetic and free from all ailments.

- Prevent dehydration

- Cure for skin eruption or Burn

- Cure constipation

Give this to your child in the form of salad or Juice.

5. Coconut water : - Promote digestion

- Boost skin health

- Prevent dehydration

- Strong bones

- Beat intestinal worm

- Improve oxygen circulation

- Restore loss of salt during loose motion

If your children drink coconut water as the way it is then its good, otherwise when you make smoothies or juices then add coconut water instead of water.

6. Curd or yogurt: Considered as a super food or world healthiest food has cooling effects and is a rich source of calcium. Improve immunity and keep digestive system healthy.

You can add this to your children’s diet as it is or in the form of different types of raitas and Lassi. If given with sugar then has cooling effect on stomach and whole body, reduce the acidity as well as the burning sensation in stomach.

7. Barley: Loaded with essential nutrients and a good source of fiber.

- Strengthen immunity system

- Keep intestine healthy

- Strong bones.

Either you can soak it overnight and add the water to the normal water of your child or you can make barley dalia for your kids which is easily available at the patanjali store.

8. Cumin seeds: It cures the problem of Anemia and digestion.

Use cumin seeds in every vegetable which will you prepare for your kids. Roast and keep it in a container and add this to the curd which you will give to your childrens.

9. Funnel seeds: Cure the problem of Diarrhea and respiratory problem in the scorching summer, also help in stimulating the intestinal fluid.

Soak it overnight and add its water to your child normal water, add this to your dishes or give this to eat after the meal.

10. Bael Fruit: Also known as summer fruit and help in calming the thirst of the body during summer. It will cure constipation and Diarrhea.

Ways to eat : Mix with sugar and give to kids to ease stomach pain.

- Mix with Jaggery and sugar to cure diarrhea.

- Mix with honey to cure acidity.

- Before lunch or dinner to reduce heat and thirst from body.

- For making the Juice add sugar and water, after grinding in mixture strain and serve.

I’m adding one more item that is Pineapple .It is loaded with vitamin C and dietary fiber. Give this to your children after 1 year of age and always give fully ripen pineapple.
