Methi Paratha is made by fresh fenugreek leaves specially eaten during winters. It is a delicious and healthy recipe.
For making methi paratha; we need-
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour (atta)
1 cup[250 gm] fresh fenugreek leaves (methi);2 bunches finely chopped
1 tea spoon salt(or as reqired)
½ tea spoon turmeric powder
½ tea spoon garam masala
1 tea spoon carom seeds
1 tea spoon coriander seeds
1 tea spoon finely chopped/grated ginger
2 table spoon oil/ghee
½ cup water for kneading(or as required)
oil/ ghee for roasting
Method-
1. Take 2 cups wheat flour in a parat/bowl. Add fenugreek leaves,
salt, turmeric powder, garam masala, carom seeds, coriander
seed, grated or finely chopped ginger, 2 tablespoon oil/ghee and
mix well.
2. Pour a little water at a time and knead to a smooth dough.
3. The more you knead; smoother will be the dough.
4. Now make medium size balls of dough.
5. Roll the balls by using rolling pins in a round shape(or any shape
you like :) )
6. Heat a non-stick tawa/griddle.
7. Place each methi paratha on a hot tawa or griddle and roast
(with some ghee) from both sides till golden brown.
8. Flip the paratha when one side is bit cooked (when you see little
bubbles, flip paratha).
9. Spread oil/ghee on this side.
10.Flip paratha a couple of times; till paratha is evenly cooked.
11. Press paratha edges with a spatula so they get cooked.
12. Enjoy this methi paratha with pickle,curd, butter ,tea ,daal or
any vegetable gravy.
